4/08/05- G-Force Racing Update ___________________________________

Texas Raceway was the scene of the second TOPMA race of the 2005 season. Thirteen cars attended the race to take a shot at the eight-car field. We made some minor adjustments to the hot rod since our first race of the year. On our first qualifying pass car we laid down a 1.04 six foot, 2.83 @ 125.8 three thirty foot, and 4.26 @ 168.6 eighth mile. At the end of the first qualifying session we were in the number two qualifying spot. On the pass we burnt an unacceptable amount off the clutch discs. We opted to sit out the second qualifying session so we could re-clearance the clutch and add counter-weight. After the second round of qualifying, we were still in the number two position and the top qualifying nitrous oxide powered hot rod.

During the first round of eliminations, Grant didn't apply enough brake pressure when staging the car and rolled the starting line beams, causing a red light disqualification. To add insult to injury, when launching the car, the wheelie bar broke. We will make the necessary repairs and adjustments to the car in order to try to reach our current goal of running mid four teen elapsed times. Congratulations to Clyde Scott and the TMW team for qualifying number one and winning the race. Congratulations to Ken Thomas and the TMS team for the runner-up and for running a personal best elapsed time of 4.19.

Thanks to Texas Raceway for giving TOPMA a great place to race. Most of all, we would like to thank our crew and our fans that support G-Force Racing and The Agitator. Our next Race is scheduled for May 13th at Texas Raceway. See you at the races!
