First Round:

Frankie Taylor (W) 4.081 at 173 mph (.064 RT)
Ken Thomas (RU) 4.077 at 177 mph (-.118 RT)

I know Ken Thomas is mad at himself over red lighting this round away but this was a personal best for this team so I think all is forgiven........Looking good guys!

Doug Riesterer (W) 4.215 at 174 mph (-.058 RT)
Thomas Myers (RU) No Time

Thomas was shut off due to a fuel leak on the starting line.

Steve Wiley (W) 4.272 at 168 mph (.063 RT) **Upset Win**
Gene Hector (RU) 4.802 at 55 mph (.097 RT)

Not sure what happened to Gene but Steve Wiley pulled off an upset victory taking out the #2 qualifier on an off-paced run at that.

Wes Johnston (W) 3.976 at 181 mph (.080 RT)
Gaylen Smith (RU) 4.615 at 115 mph (.011 RT)

Gaylen knew he had to do something in order to get passed Wes but the huge holeshot wasn't enough as the '41 Willys unloaded and went left into the grass so he had to lift and Wes flew passed him taking the win and the $3,000 three second bounty money. Congratulations to Wes and the WWW crew for their outstanding performance and for proving the first 3.94 wasn't a fluke.

Semi Finals:

Doug Riesterer (W) 4.176 at 176 mph (.098 RT)
Steve Wiley (RU) 4.216 at 168 mph (.061 RT)

This was a close race on paper and watching it live but Doug charges on for the win.

Frankie Taylor (W) 4.438 at 151 mph (.112 RT)
Wes Johnston (RU) 9.032 at 47 mph (.075 RT)

Frankie pulls off another upset win as Wes Johnston's Vette made a violent move right about the Christimas tree and caused him to abort his run and give the win to Frankie who also had traction problems but was able to peddle the car down the House of Hot Rods lane and graciously take that win.

Finals:

Frankie Taylor (W) 4.295 at 174 mph (.112 RT)
Doug Riesterer (RU) 4.426 at 160 mph (.045 RT)

This race was a peddle fest and Frankie was able to get his Vette under control a little faster than Doug did.

Congratulations to Mad Man Frankie Taylor and team for their 3rd victory in a row at Texas Raceway. Who will be able to stop them? Show up on June 8th and find out. Congratulations to Doug Riesterer & crew for the runner-up finish as well.

I just wanted to thank our team (2006 Crew of the Year) for their hard work and dedication because I'm not sure how many teams would have been able to pull off what you did after first round qualifying in order to get the Bounty Hunter in the staging lanes before the last car went down the track. My hats off to ya!

This race was a record bump at TXR for the Texas Outlaw Pro Mods and I can't wait for the stars to line up and all of them be on their game in the same night. It's liable to be an all 4.0 (or faster) field.
